Exhibition Review, Lost Europe

The empty space adjoninig with the arcade on Malé náměstí in the Old Town of Prague is filled by the exhibition Lost Europe[1]. The corner room, enclosed in its two sites by clear windows and door invites walking people to stop for a while and reflect the Ukranian´s pre-war moments with the current situation. The one can stay outside, read the texts and take a look what is happening indoor. The entrance is open on Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the door opens from 10 a.m. during the weekend. The vaulted rectangular space is refilled by photos, flag, and paper materials including for instance the book of photos accompanied by journalist Petra Procházková´s texts . Photographers Karel Cudlín, Jan Dobrovský and Martin Wágner are part of the 400asa, the group of documentary photographers. They have pictured the Ukranian landscape, people and animals. To put it differently: moments of life in Ukraine. We are now facing the difficult times that is changing our lives from minute to minute. We are now facing the difficult times, which is changing our lives from minute to minute. However, all the force doesn’t have to be wasted. Situation creates moments, challenges to deal with. The exhibition ends on the 30^th of April 2022. So go to see it. There is nothing better than the direct experience. And buying the book of photos you will contribute to support Ukrainians.[2]

Shrnutí výstavy, Lost Europe

Prázdný prostor v podloubí u Malého náměstí na Starém Městě pražském se naplnil výstavou Lost Europe[3]. Nárožní prostor doplněný ze dvou stran čirými okny a dveřmi, vyzývá kolemjdoucí k zastavení a reflexi momentů z předválečné Ukrajiny s dnešní situací. Lze zůstat venku, číst si texty a dívat se, co se děje uvnitř. Vstup je otevřen od pondělí do pátku mezi 9:00 a 18:00, o víkendu se otevírá v deset. Klenutý obdélný prostor je znovunaplněn fotkami, vlajkou a materiály z papíru zahrnujíc např. knihu fotek doplněnou texty novinářky Petry Procházkové. Fotografové Karel Cudlín, Jan Dobrovský a Martin Wágner jsou součástí skupiny 400asa, sdružení dokumentárních fotografů. Nafotili ukrajinskou krajinu, lidi a zvířata. Řečeno jinými slovy: momenty z života na Ukrajině. Nyní čelíme těžkým časům, které mění naše životy z minuty na minutu. Avšak všechna síla nemusí přijít na zmar. Situací vznikají momenty, výzvy, se kterými je třeba se popasovat. Výstava končí 30. dubna 2022. Tak se vyrazte podívat. Není nad bezprostřední zkušenost. A koupí knihy fotek podpoříte Ukrajince skrze Paměť národa.[4]
